Year after Katrina
Proof that the Future is not waiting - - -
The October 30, 2008 pot-luck get together was a resounding success. Although all the numbers are not yet in, it is estimated that approximately 100-125 people attended.
Some items discussed during the “business” portion of the meeting were:
Keith Voigts was appointed President of the Homeowners Association (he did not actively politic for this position!). The current president has moved away.
All homeowners are encouraged to view our web site for new information.
With regard to flood vs. wind damage” There is interest mounting to start a fund to hire an engineer or engineers to report on wind damage to Timber Ridge in total. Those contributing to the fund will be privy to the report. This may escalate into a legal fund. More on that as information becomes available.
Volunteer Groups are coming in to provide clean-up support to Timber Ridge. One is the local Bible Fellowship Church. Another is a small town in Kentucky that is similar in size and charm to Pass Christian. They will be sending about 20 people to us during the Thanksgiving week to do clean-up and light carpentry work, as part of a two year commitment.
Several people said that they hadn’t made up their minds if they were staying to rebuild, but the positive feeling at this outing is swaying them to stay.
Above all, talk to your friends and neighbors about your experiences. The more information we have, the better we will do.
